Aid to relief camps, volunteers continues; NFSA cards distributed

Many continued to donate essential items including edibles to people displaced by the ethnic conflict that broke out on May 3 and are taking shelter in relief camps as well as to volunteers defending their villages.
Nongpok Pana Apunba Lup (NONGPAL) provided essential items including medicines to volunteers defending villages at Nongpok Heirok under Lamlai AC, while Samaram Peace Committee and Samaram Village Meira Paibi Lup distributed edibles, clothes and other items to relief camps set up at Lamding Higher Secondary School and four others at Wangoo.
CCIAN Forum Peace Committee also provided essential materials to villagers of Phougakchao Ikhai and Torbung Bangla who are protecting the former village.
Meanwhile, Thoubal deputy commissioner distributed NFSA cards to people displaced by the ethnic conflict and taking shelter in four relief camps in Thoubal district.
Speaking at the distribution programme held at Kodompokpi Sports Complex located at Wangjing Kodompokpi, DC Ahanthem Subash informed that distribution of NFSA cards to the violence affected people is being carried out after regeneration of the ration documents.
Around 206 NFSA cards of 18 AAY and 188 PHH have been regenerated under CAF&PD, he said.
The distribution programme was also attended by District Supply Officer, Thoubal Shanta Sarungbam among others.
On the other hand, DC Subash, SP (Thoubal) Sachidananda Soibam, Khunai Kanba Apunba Meira Paibi Lup (Khukampal), Thokchom Khul Meira Paibi Lup and Kiyam Siphai Amureijam Meira Paibi Lup extended financial assistance to four people who were injured in an accident occurred on July 19 and are undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital and RIMS.
