Peace Committee resolves to discuss security with CSFs

A meeting of Peace Committee, Kakching was held at the DC's office here on Sunday with MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar, SP Th Vikramjit, ADM Moirangthem Kapajit, Peace Committee advisor Nongmaithem Nimai and vice president Yengkhom Nilachandra in attendance.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, MLA Rameshwar informed that the meeting was held in connection with the public protest on August 4 against the Assam Rifles constructing bunker/check post at Kakching Louyai road and check point at Kuraopokpi and Leimangai Chingjin without informing him or the deputy commissioner and the SP.
The meeting resolved that all security arrangements in the district should be after prior information and Consultation with the local MLA, DC, SP, central security forces (CSFs) and public in view of the prevailing law & order situation as well as for public safety; hold joint meeting of CSFs with district administration, local clubs and organisations; and to work for averting all unwanted incidents due to misunderstanding, he said.
With reference to the assurance given by Union home minister Amit Shah to National People's Party (NPP) delegation led by MP Agatha Sangma on August 4 that Manipur's integrity will not be compromised and the crisis will be resolved at the earliest, MLA Rameshwar conveyed that as the party is presently supporting BJP government it will wait for some-time for translation of the assurances into action.
In case of failure to uphold the assurance, NPP will take a decision of its own and uphold the people's wish to protect Manipur, he affirmed.
