Imphal, August 06 2023:
Former minister AK Mirabai has urged the state government to hand over the case of two students, who are missing since July 6, to the CBI.
Addressing media persons at her Toubungkhok residence on Sunday, AK Mirabai expressed serious concern that whereabouts of the missing students namely Hijam Linthoingambi and Phijam Hemanjit remain unknown after they went out together on July 6.Various leaders of the state have been approached and urged to look into the missing person and memorandums submitted to the Governor, chief minister, DGP, NCW and DCW However, as the state government is not able to trace the two, it is high time the state government entrust the task to the CBI, Mirabai opined.
She further said that it is very unfortunate for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak up in connection with the naked parading of two women, which is highly condemnable, but has not uttered a single word over the missing case of the two students.
Mirabai also condemned the manner in which the AR personnel blocked the path of state forces who were on their way to Kwakta village subsequent to the murder of three Meiteis by armed Kuki militants.
She further questioned the motive of sending in huge number of central para military forces in the state when they cannot control the prevailing situation in Manipur and are openly siding with one particular community and acting against the Meitei community.
