Free eye screening camp held, humanitarian aid extended

Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
CCIAN Forum Peace Committee today provided relief materials to the village volunteers who are currently camping at Phougakchao Ikhai in Bishnupur district to defend the area and protect the villagers.
The relief materials including rice, dal, edible oil, clothes, etc were handed over to the villager volunteers during a simple function held at the relief centre set up in Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai.

The Nongpok Pana Apunba Lup (NONGPAL) has also provided essential food items and medicines to the village volunteers who are staying at Nongpok Heirok under Lamlai Assembly Constituency on Sunday.
Notably, NONGPAL is a conglomerate of clubs/ organisations located along Porompat Baruni Road.
Samaram Peace Committee and Samaram Village Meira Paibi Lup have also jointly distributed relief materials to four relief camps set up in Wangoo and at Lamding Higher Secondary School.
Moreover, Scarlet Eye Care & Contact Lens, Thoubal Athokpam today organised a One Day Free Eye Screening Camp for the displaced people who are taking refuge at Rice Research Station, Wangbal-Khangabok.
The free eye screening camp was organised under the aegis of the District Administration Thoubal with an aim to address the various eye related issues of displaced people who are taking refuge at the relief camp.
During the eye screening camp, a team led by Eye Specialist Dr Lisam Surbala examined eye-related problems of around 85 inmates and provided free spectacles and medicines.
