The Meiteis are a proud and brave group of people.
The Kukis are merely taking advantage of the Schedule Tribe demand, which may or may not be fulfilled.
He continued that while the Meiteis in the valley were made to surrender their license guns to the police after the Kukis started killing and plundering many Meitei homes, leaving thousands displaced, no one was made to surrender their arms in the hill areas.
The Meiteis are only protecting Manipur and not interested in starting any conflict.
The editor then said that hacking and shooting someone dead while they are asleep is not only inhuman but done by those left with no way out.
He said that the Meiteis still have a way out and as such, we must not misuse mobile phones, especially at critical junctures, but work together to defeat the "invaders".
In her speech, social activist Thounaojam Brinda said that it is our duty to protect our (Meitei) community, which has a history spanning over 2000 years.
We should be firmly rooted before engaging in any conflict.
The present conflict had been pre-planned for around 30-years, she stated and urged for concerted efforts to save the state from this premeditated conflict.
