Long March halts at Oinam

Imphal, December 22 2023:
The Long March being taken out by Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) under the banner of 'peace, peaceful co-existence and uniform development' reached Oinam village of Bishnupur district today.
Today's chapter of the Long March was flagged off from Praja Higher Secondary School, Lamsang.
As the marchers reached Konthoujam, they were accorded a warm reception by the local people at Konthoujam Lairembi premises.
There, the marchers and the local people held a meeting.
Imphal Times Editor Ringku Khumukcham and UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam were the main speakers of the public meeting.
From Konthoujam, the marchers went past Khabam Bamdiar, Khabi, Sabaltongba, Thangtek and Phoijing before making a stop at Nambol.
Local people extended a hearty welcome to all the marchers at Nambol Keithel which also served as a venue for another public meeting.
The Sangai Express (Manipuri edition) Editor Khogendra Khomdram and Manipur University Associate Professor Dr Chinglen Maisnam spoke at the meeting.
After the meeting, the marchers went to Oinam and concluded the third day's march there.
The marchers would camp tonight at Thambal Marik College, Oinam.
During the course of the march and also at the meeting venues, the marchers and the local people shouted many slogans like, "Politics determine the course of a community", "Politics determine the fate of a Nation", "Let's pay due attention to politics'', "Let politics be our way of life," "Central task of governance is protecting the Nation'', "Practice politics of protecting the Nation'' etc.
The Long March was flagged off from Kangla on Wednesday and it would culminate at Maharaj Gambhir Singh Memorial Park, Canchipur on January 9 next year.
