CM Biren inspects progress of projects

Imphal, December 22 2023:
Chief minister N Biren Singh inspected the on-going construction works of Water Amusement Park at Thenguchingjin, Alternate Housing at National Games Village and Government Quarters at New Checkon on Friday.
The chief minister was accompanied by works minister Govindas Konthoujam, education minister Th Basanta Kumar, MLA Th Shanti, MLA L Rameshwar, chief secretary Vineet Joshi and other government officials.
Elated over progress of Water Amusement Park construction, the chief minister advised officials of the work agency and government officials concerned to complete the project at the earliest for dedicating the same to the people.
He then expressed hope that the Water Amusement Park at Thenguchingjin will give a new taste of sports activities among children.
Notably, construction of Water Amusement Park at Thenguchingjin started after chief minister N Biren laid foundation stone for the project on December 18, 2020 and the project at estimated cost of Rs 40 crore is being executed by Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited as the work agency.
The project was targeted for completion in 2021 but delayed due to certain reasons.
Later, the chief minister inspected Alternate Housing at National Games Village and Government Quarters at New Checkon where he told officials that both the housing complex and government quarters are being constructed vertically to save land.
These projects are being taken up with a long-term plan and to last for 100 years, he said and advised officials to complete the projects at the earliest possible time.
Meanwhile, N Biren and Gangapuram Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region of India discussed the development of the region under the 100 percent central funding at the CM's Secretariat on Friday.
Biren in his X Twitter posted, "The new central scheme of North East Special Infrastructure Development Schemes (NESIDS), fully funded by the Government of India, is taken up to fill up gaps of infrastructure in certain identified sectors of the region" .
The Chief Minister also tweeted, "Reviewed various ongoing projects under development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), North East Special Infrastructure Development Schemes (NESIDS) and North-Eastern Council (NEC) .
Also discussed new proposals aimed at enhancing connectivity, boosting travel & tourism, and charted a path forward to fortify our state's economy" .
