Arms, ammos recovered during search Ops

Imphal, December 22 2023:
Combined team of Manipur Police and central forces recovered arms and ammunition including explosives during search operations conducted in different parts of the state on Friday.
According to police report, Churachandpur district police and 46 AR conducted search operation at Munpi village under Singhat police station from 1pm till 4pm of Friday and recovered one each Country-made 9mm carbine with a magazine and 4 rounds, and country-made 9mm pistol with magazine, three smoke candle canisters, 18 tear gas shells (expired) and four wood piercing shells (expired) .
Churachandpur district police, 9 AR and 199 bat talion BSF also conducted search operation from 3:30 am till 10:30 am at P Geljang village under Churachandpur police station resulting in the recovery of one 9mm pistol with magazine and one round, two 12 Bore rifles, one radio set (s/n 22 MT 208663), one long range country-made mortar with a mortar bomb, four 38mm anti-riot cartridges, one tear smoke shell (soft nose/50m), one gas tear smoke shell (cs) (135+10m), ten fake currency notes of Rs 200 denomination and a pair of jungle boots.
Similarly, Kakching district police, F-Coy 122 Battalion BSF and G-Coy 17 battalion BSF carried out search in Panjao Panlum area under Kakching police station from 6 am to 8 am and seized two 36 HE Hand Grenade and two local made pipe guns.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Imphal East district police, 20 battalion BSF, 4 AR and 94 battalion CRPF conducted search operation at Awang Potshangbam Khunou Keikol Chingkhong and Tera Karong villages from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The security team recovered one SLR Rifle with magazine, one 9mm pistol and magazine, four 36 Hand Grenades without detonators, five 7.62mm SLR rounds and three 9mm rounds.
