Several organisa tions including All Mani pur Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Malom Tulihal Students' Union, Malom Tulihal Awang Leikai Meira Paibi, Local Development Association and Leimarol Leishemba Nishaband of Kwakeithel Soibam Leikai provided essential items and monetary assistance to relief camps set up.
at Naorem Birahari College, Khundrakpam, Kadangban, Sagolmang, Pukhao, Uyum-pok and Kangmong for the displaced people.
Meanwhile, People's Protection Committee Konthoujam extended es sential items to Kangmong Meisnam Leikai, Kangmong Langoljam, Heigrujam Man ing Leikai, Sajirok, Moid-angpok Khunou, Moidang pok Khunjao, Keithelmanbi, Khumbong and Ngairang bam Awang where the locals are defending their respective villages.
Health and family welfare minister Dr Sapam Ranjan, Hanjabam Man oranjan Sharma of Soibam Leikai, Salam Padma Devi of Leitong, clubs and meira paibi groups of Sagolmang Mamang Leikai, Sagoltongba Makha Leikai, Yurembam Makha Mamang Leikai, Lamjing Achouba and Kon-tha Ahallup, YCWO Hei-noubok, Newly Developing Association Ngairangbam, AMUCO, KASWC, DM College of Teacher Education, Chingamakha Nupi Lamjing Lup and Model Club Chin gamakha also distributed essential items and monetary assistance to relief camps set up at Yaibilen Children Home, Keibi Sanapat, JN1MS relief committee, RIMS relief unit team, Praja Higher Sec ondary School, Relief Centre Lamsang, Committee for Peace and Social Harmony, Kakching Higher Secondary School and Wabagai Higher Secondary School, Sugnu, Sangaithel Karong, Ibuthou Loyalakpa Laibung and Recent Higher Secondary School Sagoltongba.
All Assam Manipuri (Meetei) Artiste Association (AAMAA) advisor Niladhaja Chingsubam also extended a sum of Rs 20,100 to AMUCO president Nando Luwang to aid the people affected by the riot and to sustain activities for protecting the integrity of Manipur.
Along with conducting economic survey at relief camps at Praja High School, Phayeng High School and SAI complex Utlou, Manipur Indigenous Conservative Forum extended essential items and monetary aid for constructing rain water harvesting structure at Praja High School while Like Minded Group Manipur provided sports materials to relief camps at Naorem Birahari College Khundrakpam, Tulasing High School Awang
Sekmai, Khurkhul, Hein-gang, Wangjing Kodompok-pi, Wangjing Hodamba Pioneer Club, Wangjing Bazar community hall, Lamding High School and Khangabok.
Meanwhile, Imphal West district administra tion along with the peace committee formed by 21 clubs of Wangkhei assembly constituency under the initiative of Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar distributed school text books to students taking shelter in the relief camp opened at Government Dance Col lege, Palace Compound on Saturday.
The books were handed over by MLA Arunkumar as part of the government's initiative to facilitate continuation of education to the displaced students.
Expressing contentment over education department's endeavour to address plight of the students in distress, Arunkumar said that the peace committee will continue ifs service for the welfare of the people.
Meanwhile, the peace committee in association with CMO Imphal East con ducted a free medical camp for the inmates of the relief camp.
