Medical aid extended to displaced people

Bishnupur/Kakching, June 17 2023:
A one day free mega health camp was held today at the relief camp opened at Grace Cottage Academy and Victoria High School in Kakching district.
The health camp was jointly organised by Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre, JNIMS Campus in association with Vishwanath Cancer Care Foundation to address the health concerns of the displaced people who are taking refuge in this relief camp.
Around 150 people were examined today.
Besides providing free health check-up, medicines, food supplements and other healthcare essentials were distributed to the distressed people.
Considering the health and hygiene of the affected women and kids during this period of crisis, sanitary napkins and diapers were also distributed.
On the other hand, to make sure the cancer patients are not left out and get correct and timely consultation, a cancer risk assessment programme so that their cancer-treatment can be started without further delay.
Speaking in connection with the health camp, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre Director cum CEO, Dr GS Moirangthem said that the health camp has been organised to provide some relief to the people displaced by the unfortunate communal conflict.
He further assured that the Centre will provide best possible support to the affected people of the communal conflict.

Ex-Serviceman Association Phubala, CMO Bishnupur, Red Shield Division today jointly conducted a free medical camp for people displaced by ongoing communal turmoil in the State.
The medical camp was held yesterday at Ibudhou Loktak Maru community hall in Phubala and provided medical assistance to people taking shelter at relief camps opened at Phubala High School, Sunushiphai Junior School as well as the residents of Phubala and Sunushiphai.
Around 400 people took advantage of the camp where treatment facilities for eye, dental, medicine, Ortho, ECG and Gynecology and others were provided.
Medicines were also distributed free of cost to the people who sought medical aid.
