BJP refutes UKLF chiefs claim

Refuting the claim of UKLF chief SS Haokip that the armed organisation helped BJP in the assembly election conducted in 2017, BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson Elangbam Johnson clarified that BJP never solicited support from unlawful elements.
Speaking to media persons at party's Tham bal Shanglen here on Saturday, Johnson informed that there is no change in the ground rules of Suspension of Operation (SoO) to protect the integrity of Manipur.
There will be no separate administration which will disrupt the integrity of Manipur, he affirmed, while adding that the central government and BJP still have a clear stand on the matter.
Several memorandums were submitted to union government not to endorse demand for separate administration or any attempts to disrupt the integrity of Manipur.
Central leaders including the Union Home Ministry had also assured not to compromise on the territorial integrity of Manipur.
A house in Langol area has been torched by miscreants around 12 noon Saturday.
However, some vested interest groups are fomenting enmity between the communities with the ulterior motive to create discord in Manipur, he contended.
In view of the present restive situation in the state, the most important thing is to work to restore peace and normalcy at the earliest, he maintained, while adding that the issue has awaken the people and helped in identifying the enemy.
He further appealed to the people to help in restoring peace and normalcy.
