AR rescues aged Meitei woman from Phaileng village

Kangpokpi, June 17 2023:
The Jwalamukhi Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles reportedly rescued an aged Meitei woman from Phaileng village in Kangpokpi district yesterday.
According to the Assam Rifles sources, a 68 year old named Mema of Imphal West was found loitering in Phaileng village in a sensitive area speaking incoherently and was in a disoriented state.
She was immediately taken to the Temporary Operating Base of Assam Rifles at Hathikhua while the Meitei CSOs of the area, Meira Paibis and SHO of Sekmai Police Station were informed by the Assam Rifles.
Later, she was handed over to the care of Meira Paibis and the same was informed to the Sekmai Police Station by the Assam Rifles and the SP Kangpokpi.
The representatives of the Meira Paibis reportedly told the rescue column of the Assam Rifles that the aged woman was missing since the past 3/4 days and thanked the Assam Rifles wholeheartedly for their humanitarian action and relieving the families of the anguish of separation in these trying times by reuniting her
with the family.
