Governor pays tribute to Jhansi Rani

Imphal, June 17 2023: Governor Anusu-lya Uikey has paid tribute to the first lady of Indian freedom struggle, Rani Lakshmi Bai ahead of the Jhansi Rani Balidan Divas which falls on June 18 .

In a message, the Governor stated that fearless fight with the British is what one remembers when one hears the name of Rani Lakshmi Bai.

She was an epitome of bravery and courage, the Governor added Indian history has not yet witnessed a women warrior as brave and powerful as the Rani of Jhansi, the Governor stated, adding that, Rani was martyred in a struggle to attain Swaraj and liberate the Indians from the British rule.
