Victim of Kuki attack laid to rest at Tumukhong

Imphal, January 04 2024:
The mortal rerpains of Chingakham Lamyanba, who succumbed to injuries suffered in an attack by armed Kuki militants at Tumukhong on December 31 last, were laid to rest after conduct of the last rites at his Tumukhong village on Thursday.
Lamyanba was rushed to Raj Medicity with multiple bullet and bomb wounds on December 31 in the attack by Kuki militants but succumbed to injuries at the private hospital on the same day.
His body was being kept at JNIMS mortuary ever since.
After post mortem was conducted on Thursday, the body was taken to Tumukhong where he was laid to rest.
The body was taken from JNIMS in a procession participated by a large number of people through Khurai Lamlong bazar, Sawombung, Yourabung, Pungdongbam, Lamlai, Nongada, Seijang and halted briefly at Sabungkhok ground where people offered floral tributes as a mark of respect to him.
A 2-minute silence was also observed in honour of the departed soul.
From Sabungkhok, the body was taken along Telou Chana, Chingnungkhok, Nongren, Nongpok Kakching, Nongdam, Oksu and finally to his Tumukhong Awang Leikai home where the body was laid to rest.
