IRB candidates for basic training in state

While drawing the attention of authorities concern for conduct of basic training at the Manipur Police Training College in Pangei, candidates shortlisted for recruitment into 10 and 11 IRB battalions and other forces unanimously resolved to skip basic trainings if conducted outside Manipur.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday, Kishan Saikhom, on behalf of the selected candidates, said that basic training of the selected candidates of two IRB battalions and other recruitments is kept on hold for the past many months.
Amid such protracted delay, there are reports that the training will be conducted in Assam which would not be possible at the juncture, he claimed citing the ethnic conflict between Meetei and Kuki communities for the last eight months.
As selected Manipuri candidates would be at risk travelling to Assam for the training, the state government should make arrangement for conducting the basic training at the Manipur Police Training College in Pangei, he suggested.
Kishan further informed that a meeting of the selected candidates was held on Thursday morning and a memorandum submitted to the chief minister urging for conducting the training at Manipur Police Training College at the earliest.
The memorandum also made it clear that the selected candidates have decided not to take the training if conducted outside the state.
