Long March halts at Malom

Imphal, January 04 2024:
The Long March for National Regeneration being undertaken by the Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) reached Malom today.
The 16th day's leg was flagged off from Mayang Imphal today.
From Mayang Imphal, the marchers reached Leimapokpam after passing through Kokchai, Upokpi, Santipur and Waheng Khuman.
The marchers held a public meeting at Leimapokpam where they had their lunch.
Manipur University faculty member Dr Chinglen Maisnam and Naharolgi Thoudang Editor Khoirom Loyalakpa spoke at the meeting.
From Leimapokpam, the long march made its way to Malom through Langpok, Lairenjam, Mekola and Changangei.
Another public meeting was also held at Malom where Prof Dr W Nabakumar of Manipur University and women and child protection activist Narengbam Nonibala were the main speakers.
The marchers would have their dinner at Megha High School, Malom and put up the night there.
MAYOL's long march carrying the message of peace, peaceful co-existence and collective development was flagged off from Kangla on December 20 .
It will culminate at the Maharaj Gambhir Singh Memorial Park, Langthabal Kunja on January 9 .
