In a move towards fostering self-sufficiency and skill development, Maram Battalion Assam Rifles distributed baking and biscuit making equipment to the residents of Willong Khullen village in Senapati district on Thursday.
In a statement, PRO IGAR (East) informed that the event, attended by the commandant of Maram Battalion, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of locals as they received essential tools to venture into baking activities.
The commandant took the opportunity to interact with village authorities and residents, emphasising the significance of community empowerment through such initiatives.
This initiative goes beyond providing equipment; it equips the community with the means to generate income and promotes self-reliance.
Assam Rifles, through efforts like these, aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region, said the statement.
It also informed that commitment of Maram Battalion in bringing positive change and strengthening the bond between the armed forces and the local populace was evident during the interaction between the commandant and the village authorities.
This collaborative effort is geared towards building a resilient and self-sustaining community, the PRO said.
