SU seal comeback win against DMRAO in 1st Premier League

Imphal, January 04 2024: Sagolband United (SU) shrugged off a first-half deficit to beat Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation (DMRAO) in Thursday's action of the 1st Premier League at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

In a keenly contested first period, DMRAO managed to stole a march on SU in the 45th minute with Konthoujam Monex on target.

After the break, SU got their act together and fought their way back into the game when Ronik Singh Moirangthem struck in the leveller in the 54th minute.

The game then picked up steam as both teams squandered a few opportunities during back-and-forth exchanges.

Shunjanthan Ragui was instrumental in SU's eventual success towards the end of the competition.

This time around, the Sagolband squad made effective use of their opportunity in a goalmouth scramble, setting up Shunjanthan, who finished with aplomb, sending the ball into the net to give his team all three points with a goal in the 85th minute.
