Imphal, February 19 2024:
Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Tengnoupal has threatened to launch agitation if the state forces are not withdrawn from Tengnoupal.
In a release, KSO Tengnoupal president Thangboi Lhungdim expressed shocked that an officer of Manipur police threatened to kill an innocent civilian, who lodged a complaint at the police station concerned on February 15 but no action has been taken up.
This has proved the long standing demand of the people of Tengnoupal that any Meetei force posted in the hill districts is a threat to the lives of the innocent people.
The release further stated that appeals and prayers made to the central government including top AR officials such as DGAR and the Indian army, have been fallen on deaf ears.
"Till now we have listened to the administration of the central government.
But there will come a time when we can no longer bear the pain of our innocent civilians.
If any unwanted incident happens, the administration and security agency concerned should bear all responsibility," the KSO warned.
The release also reiterated its demand for removal of Manipur police for the safety of the people and also to maintain peace in the district while declaring that KSO will not remain a silent spectator to atrocities of police but resort to protest if the appeal is not honoured.
