Governor inaugurates Vikram Batra Auditorium

Governor Anusuiya Uikey inaugurated a New Auditorium of Sainik School, Imphal named after Captain Vikram Batra today at its campus in Pangei, Imphal.
The inaugural function was attended by Group Captain Rajneesh Kumar, Principal, Sainik School Imphal; Lt.Colonel Satish Kumar, Deputy Principal, Sainik School Imphal; Squadron Leader L R Jote, Administrative Officer, Sainik School Imphal; N Kulkarani Devi, Director, Planning, Government of Manipur; teachers and students of the school, said a release issued by PRO Raj Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, Anusuiya Uikey stressed on the role of the teachers in moulding the students into an educated, ideal individuals and which leads to the creation of an educated society.
Highlighting that education plays a significant role in the development of a Nation, she shared that through education, students not only acquire knowledge but it also instils the sense of morality, culture and Indian values.
The Governor conveyed that Sainik School Imphal, established in 1971 is among the top schools in the country today due to the efforts of the school authorities.
"Sainik School was established with the objective to prepare students academically, physically and for entry into National Defence Academy and similar military institutions", said the Governor while hailing the cadets (students) of the school for their special military discipline and remarkable talents.
The Governor also highlighted the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2021, for providing girl students the opportunity to study in the Sainik Schools.
"Such initiative will give a platform for the girls' cadets to demonstrate their ability in national defence and show their competency by equally participating in other training", she added.
The Governor further appealed to all the cadets to keep working hard even in the most difficult circumstances and contribute significantly in making India a developed country.
As part of the event, the Governor planted a tree and released a souvenir.
She also attended a luncheon with 540 cadets, staff of Sainik School and inspected the girls' hostel as well as reviewed the progress of the under construction building.
Notably, Sainik School Imphal has produced more than 300 capable and brave officers for the Army and Navy since its inception.
Officers passed out from the school have shown their bravery and intelligence in Galwan Valley against the Chinese Army.
