YWC, TRAU, TCMDC, RCA triumph in U-19 cricket

Imphal, February 19 2024:
YWC, Langthabal and TRAU, Kwakeithel had to fight hard to overcome their opponents, as TCMDC, Thongju-ll Pechu Lampak and RCA, Lilong cruised to victories in league matches of the 2nd MNCA Men's U-19 Tournament 2023-24 on Monday.
YWC beat CRAU, Khamnam Bazar by two wickets at Model Higher Secondary & Oriental College Ground after Yumnam Achouba Singh (3 wickets) and other bowlers restricted CRAU to 180 in 39.5 overs after the latter opted to bat.
In reply, Seram Robinson (44) and Heishnam Manikanta (36) ensured that YWC reached the target in 38.1 overs despite losing 8 wickets.
TRAU defeated PTCC, Patspi Part ill by 12 runs in a closely fought match at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur.
Huiningshumbam Inching (46) ensured that the TRAU triumph with a fighting total of 98 in 24.3 overs, while Mutum Swabhiman scalped 5 wickets to bundle out PTCC for 86 in 25.1 overs.
At Lairenjam Public Ground, TCMDC won by 61 runs against MODEL, Singjamei Chingamakha.
TCMDC scored 151 in 35 overs with Thomsan (73) being the only notable contributor.
However, TCMDC bowling attack led by Laishram Valindra (3) and Rain Urikhimbam (3) halted the MODEL run chase for only 90 in 27.4 overs.
At Moijing Public Ground, RCA outplayed ESU, Wangkhei by 10 wickets after the latter were scuttled out for only 84 in 39.3 with Aziz Mirza (3) and Md Alfash (3) being the wreckers in chief.
RCA completed the run chase in 21.4 overs riding on unbroken partnership of Md Anush (51) and Md Safwan Ahamed (21).Meanwhile, SHADOW, Thangmeiband defeated SDYA, Lilong by 186 runs; RCA crushed SU, Sagolband by 84 runs; PTRC defeated YPHUC by 27 runs; and MPA, Thounaojam trounced SSC, Porompat by 155 runs in the 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2023-24 on Monday.
On the other hand, MNCA has informed that venue for the Group B match of the U-14 tournament between PTCC and SCCC scheduled on February 25 will be at Model Higher Secondary School & Oriental College Ground.
