Workshop on Tek Fiesta held

In connection with the golden jubilee celebration of Government Blind School, Takyel; a one-day Tek Fiesta workshop was organised by Handicap Development (HD) Foundation, Manipur in collaboration with SAKSHAM Disability, New Delhi at the conference hall of the school on Monday.
As part of the workshop, around 50 students received android tablets with keyboards.
Speaking on the occasion, HD Foundation chairman Dr Sapam Jasobanta pointed out that the visually impaired people can do daily tasks with ease with the help of machines.
If companies producing such machines are set up in Manipur, the visually impaired people would be able to take up more responsible roles in the society, he pointed out.
Social Welfare deputy director L Dhaneshwar, who was also present at the event, said that if the visually impaired students are supported with the latest technology, their knowledge base would be far greater than normal people.
