PHU, MSU condemn Phyapou, Sekmai incidents

Poumai Naga Union (PNU) and Mao Students' Union (MSU) have strongly condemned the unwarranted provocative firing towards Phyapou village as well as the assault on truck drivers and associates along NH-2 at Sekmai.
In separate condemnation notes, both PNU and MSU said that miscreants used automatic weapons to fire from J Songtung Kuki village towards Phyapou village, a Poumai Naga village, on February 16 with the attack hitting and piercing the roof of a Phyapou villager.
This blatant act seriously threatened the Poumai community, the condemnation notes said.
Both PNU and MSU also condemned the assault of Naga truck drivers/helpers namely Th Paul Pavei, Ng M Hrapu, A Payio and Sanjay Khadkar on February 16 night at Sekmai.
The assault and looting at gunpoint cannot be tolerated, they affirmed.
According to PNU and MSU, Nagas have been maintaining neutrality and playing a pivotal role to ensure return of peace in the state though two communities are currently in bitter conflict.
Such despicable acts are only paving Way for causing extreme fear psychosis and hinder peace, the condemnation notes said and urged law enforcing agencies and authority to take note of the incidents seriously and book the culprits as per the law.
