Shija receives 'Strong Commitment to HR Excellence' award

Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI) has been honoured with the esteemed "Strong Commitment to HR Excellence" award in an event held in Mumbai on Friday.
Sanjay Behl, chairman of the CII National Committee on Leadership & HR and executive director of Greaves Electric Mobility, along with Indrani Kar, principal advisor at CII & head of CII- Suresh Neotia Centre of Excellence for Leadership, presented the award to SHRI's leadership team.
SHRI CMD Dr Palin Khundongbam, CEO Dr Bonney Khundongbam, HR director Gayatri Maibam, managers HR Geetanjali Aribam and Dhyanchand Potshangbam, deputy manager Gabriel Pheiroijam, and assistant manager Sarda Huidrom accepted the award on behalf of SHRI.
According to a SHRI release, the CII-HR Excellence Award Model, which forms the basis for this recognition, encompasses all aspects of human resource management.
Each application undergoes thorough assessment by a team of qualified assessors, followed by a site visit.
The final determination of award recipients is made by a distinguished jury based on assessment reports submitted by the assessors, it said.
The assessment team for SHRI included industry veterans such as Deepak Deshpande, vice-president of HR at Tata Business Excellence Group, S Muthusivan, vice-president of HR at The Residency Group of Hotels, Ajay Mali, senior manager of HR, and Monica Anand, head of learning & development at EKI Energy Services Limited.
Shija Hospital manager HR Geetanjali Aribam also played a pivotal role in the CII-HR Excellence Award Model as a qualified assessor.
With over 20 years of experience in the HR domain, including a tenure at IBM India before joining SHRI in 2020, Geetanjali's expertise contributed significantly to the institution's recognition.
With a rich legacy spanning 38 years in healthcare service, SHRI has evolved from a mono-practice clinic to a super-specialty hospital and the first home-grown private medical college in Northeast India.
Notably, SHRI is also the first NABH-accredited medical college hospital in the region.
Looking ahead, SHRI envisions becoming a globally recognised medical centre by 2029, prioritising exceptional patient experiences, academic excellence, and the advancement of healthcare standards, affirmed the release.
