First randomisation of EVMs, VVPATS held

Imphal, March 23 2024:
The First Randomisation of EVMs and WPATs on EVM Management System (EMS 2.0) for use in the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha, 2024 election was conducted on Saturday at Kombirei Hall of Deputy Commissioner's office complex, Lamphelpat, Imphal West.
The event chaired by Imphal West district election officer Th Kirankumar, was attended by AC to DC-I (Nodal Officer-Training Management) Samson Huidrom, AROs and representatives of recognised political parties.
PHERZAWL: The first randomisation of EVM and VVPAT for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was held on Saturday at Pherzawl DC office complex in the presence of Pherzawl DEO Asish Das, additional DEO, AROs, nodal officer for EVM Management and representatives of political parties.
Prior to randomization, representatives of political parties were briefed on purpose and process of EVM/VVPAT randomization with copy of the randomization report also shared with the representatives.
KANGPOKPI: The first randomization of EVMs/VVPATs was conducted on Saturday in the presence of representatives of National and State recognised political parties at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Kangpokpi town.
District Election Officer (DEO)/DC Mahesh Chaudhari brief the political parties and district election officials on familiarisation of the assigned task on execution, assessment and randomization of EVMs and VVPATs.
There are 166 polling stations and 24 Special Polling Stations, which are meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Nodal officer for EVM/VVPAT Management informed that the EVM and VVPATs were randomized and allotted for the three assembly constituencies namely, Saikul (ST), Kangpokpi and Saitu (ST), After the randomization process, assembly constituency wise lists were shared with representatives of recognised national and state political parties present at the meeting.
Later, the EVMs/VVPATs were kept in the strong-room under strict vigilance.
