Governor releases State Focus Paper 2024-25

Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Friday released the 'State Focus Paper 2024-25' at the Raj Bhavan.
The focus paper prepared by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) outlays total credit potential of Rs 2963.17 crore for priority sector activities in Manipur as defined by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) .
Releasing the focus paper during the State Credit Seminar, 2024, held at Raj Bhavan, the Governor said that the Potential Link Credit Plan prepared by NABARD has been released by aggregating district wise credit schemes in the form of 'State Focus Paper' for the year 2024-25 .
She also conveyed that the economic development of the state will take place on the basis of this plan and called upon bankers and government officials to contribute their mite in achieving the target.
Anusuiya Uikey also expressed hope that all the stakeholders will extend cooperation in achieving the goal by discharging their respective responsibilities with honesty, sensitivity and speed within the stipulated time.
The Governor continued that in order to enhance socio-economic status of the villagers, their income level and quality of life, it is necessary to fulfil the targets set by NABARD for the development of rural infrastructure, which can be done only with the cooperation of the bank officials.
To ensure prosperity of rural areas, agriculture, cottage and village industries, handicrafts and rural crafts and other economic activities and MSMEs, it is necessary to provide credit facilities, market and fair prices for the promotion and development of the sector, she stressed.
NABARD in its State Focus Paper 2024-25 has estimated the available loan potential at Rs 2,963.17 crore, out of which Rs 1,422.88 crore is estimated for agricultural activities, Rs 1,136.22 crore for MSME and the remaining 14 per cent (Rs 404.07 crore) for other priority sectors, she added.
Senior representatives of RBI, SBI, PNB, Manipur Rural Bank, etc., attended the seminar organised by NABARD, Manipur Regional Office, Imphal.
