Imphal, February 18 2024:
Expressing concern over mushrooming of private schpols without authorisation of competent authorities, Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has vowed to take up strict actions against unrecognised schools which have been established with only commercial outlook.
Speaking at its 2nd foundation day held at Singjamei Top Leikai community Hall, Sunday, under the theme "Education for Peace", FESOK president Ronald Kenedy Longjam noted with regret that the 10 month-long humanitarian crisis in the state has not only seriously impacted the education sector but is certain to impede the state's developments in all aspects.
Therefore, the state government needs to restore peace and normalcy in the state at the earliest, he said.
The president contended that there are over 100 unrecognised schools functioning in different parts of the state and declared that FESOK will ensure that, in the interest of the student community, no such schools exist.
As unrecognised schools will definitely have detrimental effect on the students, FESOK will initiate action against all the unrecognised schools, Kenedy maintained, adding that FESOK will also continue its initiative of conducting survey to help school students from falling prey to drugs.
The issue of shortage of teachers in government schools will also be looked into, he said.
The function was also attended by DM College of Teacher Education assistant professor Dr Ch Tomba Singh and Manipur University Department of National Security Studies head in-charge Dr Ingudam Yaipharemba.
