Dialogue, mutual respect will bring peace, says Timothy Zimik

Kakching, April 12 2024: Kachui Timothy Zimik, the candidate in Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency fielded by Naga People's Front (NPF), an ally of the BJP led NDA, has said that dialogue and mutual respect among the different communities living in the State are the only means for bringing peace and normalcy.

He made the remark while addressing his election campaign held at Leipung Tampak village in Chan del district on Thursday.

Nagaland deputy CM Yanthungo Patton and higher education minister Temjen Imna Along, NPF Manipur president and water re sources minister Awangbow Newmai, Chandel MLA Ss Olish, Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei, NPF Manipur advisor former minister D Korungthang and others participated in the campaign meeting during which Mantri Pantha Baptist Church pastor reverend J Simon conducted prayer for the NPF candidate.

Addressing the gathering, K Timothy Zimik lamented that all sections of the society are suffering from the impact of the current crisis in the state.

Reiterating that dialogue and mutual respect among the communities should be the way forward to restore peace and normalcy in the state, he assured of pursuing the same to normalise the situation and bring development in the state if elected.

Noting that people of different communities are living a life of uncertainty due to the crisis, the candidate called for all the concerned stakeholders to contribute their mite in ending the humanitarian crisis in the state.

Meanwhile, Nagaland DyCM Yanthungo Patton said that BJP is not anti-Christian and it is only the propaganda of Congress that led to such beliefs.

Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who was elected as Rajya Sabha MP from Assam, visited Nagaland only once in his two terms while on the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited northeast 72 times during the two terms, he said.

In his address, minister Awanbow Newmai said that NPF is a minor political party in the NDA and yet, BJP is supporting the NPF candidate without fielding its own candidate for the outer seat, for which he is grateful to PM Modi and CM N Biren as well as other BJP leaders.

Even though there were some conflicts of interest among BJP, NPP and NPF, all the three parties are fighting the election with their common candidates, he said, while urging for support to the NPF candidate in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
