CMHT: 1142 complaints received, two still pending

The State Grievance Redressal Cell has received a total of 1144 complaints related to Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) scheme till date, of which disposal of two complaints is still pending.
The government of Manipur introduced the CMHT health scheme on January 21, 2018 to provide affordable health care to the people of the state particularly those from the vulnerable and weaker sections of the society.
The scheme provides health insurance of Rs 5 lakh per year to a household and has empanelled around 66 hospitals including government and private hospitals, including Guwahati-based Narayana Superspecialty and Midland Hospital and Research Centre Pvt Ltd.
Beneficiaries are also provided access to around 1857 packages under this scheme.
So far, around 7,45,445 beneficiaries from 2,22,592 households have enrolled under this scheme, of which around 1,79,250 have re ceived the benefits of free treatment.
The state government has allocated a total of Rs 170 crore for the scheme from 2017-18 till 2023-24 .
According to the guidelines of the scheme, beneficiaries can avail benefits of the scheme by producing the health cards at the empanelled hospitals.
However, in case beneficiaries faced difficulties in availing the benefits, the Health Department has opened the State Grievance Redressal Cell led by an additional director to hear their grievances.
The Cell received 180 complaints in 2019-20, 277 in 2020-21, 389 in 2021-22, 256 in 2022-23 and 39 complaints till October this year for 2023-24.Of the total 1144 complaints received by the Cell, around 1142 complaints have been resolved while two are still pending.
The two complaints were filed this year.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle in this regard, CMHT State Nodal Officer and health director Dr Sasheekumar Mangang urged the people to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Informing that CMHT counters at public hospitals could be increased, he urged beneficiaries to have their health cards in hand while getting admitted to the empanelled hospitals.
They should produce the health cards at the CMHT counter at the time of admission so as to avail the benefits of the scheme, he added.
