Month-long Irawat memorial observance begins

Irawat Celebration Committee (ICC), Manipur State Council CPI and Manipur Loumi Lup jointly launched the month-long 127th Jananeta Irawat memorial observance at Irawat Bhawan, BT Road, here, on Friday and also observed All India Farmers' Demand Day.
The launch programme was inaugurated by paying floral tributes to the statue of Jananeta Hijam Irabot.
Speaking on the occasion, CPI former state secretary L Sotinkumar urged the people to join hands and fight together against the attempt to disrupt Manipur's integrity by BJP.
We have pledged to uproot BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, he asserted, while adding that all indigenes should work together to avoid living as refugees in their own land.
They should resettle at their own homes, he added.
It is normal for the people to make demands to the government.
Both the state and central governments should take initiative to preserve the integrity of Manipur.
It is wrong that the powerful people are living luxurious life while the lay man lay down their lives.
The government should take their responsibility to save the integrity and territory of Manipur, he remarked.
CPI MSC assistant secretary M Joykumar said that during the month-long observance several protests and meetings Will be organised in different areas as Manipur Integrify Month to protect the integrity of Manipur.
The launch programme was also attended by CPI leader L Iboyaima, CPI, MSC state secretary L Thoiren, Loumee Lup president N Singhajit, All Manipur Nupi Marup president M Shakhi and CPI national control commission member Dr M Nara as presidium members.
