CDO team still unable to reach Moreh

Imphal, October 16 2023: Manipur police commando team moving towards Moreh town is yet to reach the border town and stranded at the KLP camp of 5th Assam Rifles near Kondong Lairembi site, some five kilometre from Moreh town since Saturday.

The CDO team could not enter Moreh due to road block protest by Kuki women, who brought out small kids including toddlers to the protest site near Chikim village located adjacent to the AR post.

The situation still persists despite the presence of Rapid Action Force, Assam Rifles, BSF, special commandos, Moreh police as well as personnel of 5th IRB.

Meanwhile, commenting on the situation, displaced people of Moreh, who are taking refuge in different relief centres in the valley districts, said that State and central forces only show their might to Meira Paibi and students of the valley but not against those in the hills.

It is unfortunate that the government could not handle the situation, they said.
