Imphal, September 15 2023:
Enquiring as to where all the tall promises made by the state government led by chief minister N Biren to provide lasting peace and not let the mothers have sleepless nights in Meira Shang have gone, Lamyanba Irabot Memorial Integrated Trust (LIMIT) has appealed to all the state legislators to stand united and bring an end to the prevailing crisis in the state.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Friday, LIMIT president Malem Thongam said that the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists have been waging a war against the Meiteis since May 3 and continuing to burn down Meitei houses, killing innocent people by entering their houses while they were asleep and firing towards Meitei village from atop the hills.
They have also destroyed many sacred places of the Meiteis and even took control of old Meitei villages and started to construct bunkers in these areas and marking them as their land and trying to get hold of Manipur under their grips.
Their attempt to create a separate homeland for the Kukis by perpetrating various heinous crimes against the Meitei community has given a big impact to all indigenous people of the state.
As such thousands of mothers have come out" to fight the terrorists without any weapons in their hands, said president Malem.
He further said that the state government should honour demands of the 30 women organisations, ensure that the Assam Rifles is removed from the state at the earliest, all MLAs come, together to end the present crisis and restore peace and normalcy state.
