Sit-ins demand removal of AR

Imphal, September 15 2023:
All Lilong Chajing Clubs' Organisation, Apunba Lilong Chajing Meira Paibi Lup (ALCMPL) and Karam Meira Paibi Lup jointly staged sit in protest demanding removal of Assam Rifles at Lilong Bazar on Friday.
Speaking in this regard, ALCMPL general secretary Maibam Basanti strongly condemned atrocities committed by armed AR personnel against the unarmed civilians during the Pallel incident on September 8.People of Manipur do not want them to stay in the land.
They are suffering tremendously because of the atrocities of Assam Rifles, she reasoned, while reiterating the demand for removal of Assam Rifles from Manipur.
The protestors held placards inscribed 'We condemned the atrocities of AR', 'Remove Assam Rifles from Manipur' among others.
Sit-in protest was also staged at Pallel Maning Leikai Khongnang Makhong against Assam Rifles on Thursday.
During the protest organised by United Committee (UC), Pallel, the agitators held placards and chanted slogans demanding punishment of AR for killing innocent civilians, remove AR from Pallel and Manipur, pay compensation and offer government jobs to family members of late Yengkhom Jiten & Soibam Naoba, implement NRC in state, etc.
Sit-in protest was also organised by Tejpur Apunba Meira Paibi against deployment of Assam Rifles at Tejpur Awang Leikai community hall on Friday.
The protestors chanted slogans and held placards inscribed with slogans like 'punish AR', 'remove AR from Manipur', 'no two administrations in state', 'implement NRC', 'uproot narco-terrorism from state', 'revoke SoO agreement with Chin-Kuki militants', 'let's unite to fight against narco-terrorists', 'we want peace', Tong live Manipur', etc., during the protest.
Sit-in protest was also organised at Tangjeng Khongnangkhong with the participants holding placards and raising slogans against those demanding separate administration.
The agitators chanted slogans like 'Go back AR, implement NRC, we condemn firing on innocent civilians by AR, people who want separation from Manipur should leave the state, we oppose giving land to illegal migrants, protect Manipur's integrity, if government cannot resolve the crisis then hand over the governance to public, etc.
