Imphal, September 15 2023:
The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh "to declare the results of the interview which was held in the month of September 2021 for the appointment of 190 posts of Assistant Professors (145+45-ST Special Drive) for Government colleges of Manipur" .
In a memorandum, the Naga student body said the interviews for the posts were conducted in September 2021 .
Even though the recruitment process for the 190 posts of Assistant Professors on contract basis for the Government colleges of Manipur was completed and the approval for declaration of the results was sought from the Government, the results have not been declared till date, it said.
However, surprisingly and shockingly, the Directorate of Higher Education had stated that the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) was not functional when the decision for recruitment of 190 posts was taken, and that the MPSC may be assigned with the task of appointing all the vacant posts of teaching staff in Government colleges.
Such a recommendation to assign the recruitment to MPSC after completion of the recruitment process is a total mockery and shows incapability and incompetency on the part of the Departments concerned it said.
Even if the Department concerned is inclined to recruit all the vacant posts of the teaching staff of the Government colleges through MPSC, it should not be clubbed together with the previous 190 posts for which recruitment process has already been completed.
All the short-listed candidates who have appeared in the interview have been positively waiting for their result for almost 2 years now.
Any changes of recruitment process concerning the 190 posts would gravely cause irreparable loss to all the candidates, it said, appealing to the Government to declare the results.
