Imphal, January 20 2024: Leaders of 10 political parties have demanded chief minister N Biren to convene an all-party meet to discuss the crisis in the state and to send a delegation to meet the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Hareshwar Goswami has alleged that the incompetency of the BJP-led government in the state is becoming even more evident.

Addressing a press conference of 10 political parties at Manipur Press Club, here, on Saturday, Hareshwar Goswami said that people can no longer see the contribution of the state government in the economy, geo-politics and security of the state since the crisis broke out on May 3 last year.

The state is facing an aggression from narco-terrorists with support from external hands.

India, despite having the fourth largest army in the world, is unable to control the aggression of the Kuki terrorists, which raises a serious question on the ability of the Indian Army or the policy of the Government of India.

The 10 political parties have been pointing out the need for intervention from the Prime Minister for several months considering the geo-political intricacies of the crisis.

However, the state government seems to be ignoring this very fact and it only shows the incompetency of the government, he said.

He further said that the country, under the rule of BJP government, has strained the relationships with neighbouring countries, not only with its traditional rivals Pakistan and China.

The worst relationship with Myanmar is being witnessed during the current BJP government as it sacrifices its own economy and security in handling the crisis.

The current crisis is akin to a second devastation of Manipur in the hands of Awas (Myanmar).

And yet, the state government has been ignoring the demand for an all-party meet, except for once in the early stage of the crisis, he added.

Shiv Sena (UBT) state president Toijam Debananda, who was also present during the press conference, also stressed the need for a united approach by all political parties in the state and meet the Prime Minister for his intervention, without which it would be a tough task to control the situation.
