KEDO reaches out to victim families

Imphal, January 20 2024:
Kanglei Economic Development Organisation (KEDO) on Friday provided relief material and monetary aid to the grieving families of the four innocent firewood collectors from Kumbi Akasoi Bazar who were killed by Kuki militants on January 10, 2024 .
The KEDO team was led by president Soibam Maniton and general secretary Sur Thokchom.
Th Shanti Leima, president Khwairamban Nupi Keithel Sinpham Amasung Saktam Kanba Lup and a large number of KEDO volunteers also took part in the visit.

Speaking in this connection, Sur Thokchom said that KEDO had made the donation as the four men were daily wage earners and KEDO shares their ideal of self-sufficiency by making a living through an honest day's work.
He also assured that KEDO will provide a means of livelihood to five people from Akasoi, including members of the grieving families.
It may be noted that the KEDO volunteers handed over essential items such as rice, lentils, cooking oil, onion, cabbage etc to the families of the four victims of violence.
