Whom to raise public grievances to if not CM, asks Assn

Questioning to whom the people are supposed to bring forth their grievances if riot the Chief Minister, Social Development Association, a constituent part of JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Takhellambam Manaoranjan, has asked if the lack of justice despite multiple complaints is telling the people that there is no head of the government.
Speaking at a public meeting held at Phayeng Bazar on Saturday, Association member Ningthoujam Ajit pointed out that around seven people have died in attacks by Kuki militants in Kangchup Arwa.
On November 7 last, one Khwairakpam ningol Leishombam ongbi Abemcha (39) of Kangchup Kharang was shot in an incident caused by central forces and later succumbed to her injuries.
A JAC was formed in this regard and submitted a memorandum to the CM, requesting to solve the security issues in Kangchup area.
Following the CM's assurances, Abemcha's dead body was claimed.
Unfortunately, the CM failed to live up to his assurances and Takhellambam Manoranjan was brutally killed by Kuki militants on January 16.However, the government is still failing to fulfil the demands of the people, he added.
Questioning how the people are supposed to plead to the government to act on its responsibilities, Ajit said that the people of Kangchup, Phayeng and surrounding clubs and Meira Paibis will extend full support to all activities undertaken by the JAC formed in connection with the killing of Manoranjan.
