₹5 lakh donated to displaced people

Imphal, January 20 2024:
All Manipur Veneer and Plywood Manufacture Association on Saturday donated Rs 5 lakh each for displaced people of Churachandpur and Moreh who are staying at various relief camps.
The amount was handed over to the representatives of Churachandpur and Moreh victim associations at the office of Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) at Lamphel.
Speaking on the occasion, COCOMI co-ordinator Jeetendra Ningomba praised state's entrepreneurs and other individuals for extending helping hand towards displaced people and village volunteers protecting their villages.
He also appreciated the gesture of All Manipur Veneer and Plywood Manufacture Association for the displaced people, while appealing to all to continue supporting each other in this time of crisis.
On the other hand, Association's assistant secretary Sarungbam Bimol said that the monetary assistance was contributed by various units of the association and was provided to displaced people of Churachandpur and Moreh under the first phase of aid.
He also informed that the association is planning to provide 300 beds for affected people.
