Peace and Freedom Academy observes 20th foundation day

The 20th foundation day celebration of Peace and Freedom Academy, Thoubal Haokha cum felicitation programme was held at the campus of the academy today.
The programme was graced by B Surchandra Sharma, president Private Schools' Development Council (PSDC) Thoubal; Soibam Bishworjit Singh, Managing Director Peace and Freedom Academy and Salam Jotin, Principal of the academy as the presidium members.
During the programme, 54 meritorious students of the academy who secured high marks and passed with flying colours in the High School Leaving Certificate Examinations (HSLCE) 2023 were felicitated and honoured with gifts.
The Managing Director of the academy also presented gift hampers to the staff to encourage them to strive for the better.

Principal of the academy, Salam Jotin while delivering the keynote address said that the alumni of the school have made significant contributions to the society over the past 20 years.
In a bid to alleviate the challenges faced by the young displaced students and their parents amid the prevailing crisis, he announced concession schemes for the displaced students who wish to enrol in the academy.
He maintained that the school has been striving to impart special lessons to the students on enhancing critical thinking, interpersonal communication, problem solving, empathy, emotional coping etc in line with the goals of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of imparting prominent life skills to the students.
In addition to the above, vocational training programmes are provided to all the teachers of the school on a regular basis to improve their teaching skills and keep them updated with the new developments in the field of education so as to provide quality education to the students, he added.
The principal also informed that the school is closely working in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) objectives of focusing on activities based learning, work culture, healthy India, science exhibition, science seminar, debate, co curricular, curriculum activities and so on.
To help in making Thoubal as a 'Model Education District', the school has been putting in significant efforts in different aspects and is working in coordination with PSDC Thoubal.
Highlighting the vital role of teachers and parents, he said that regular parent teachers' meetings and home visits are being done for the welfare of the students.
He also spoke about the residential facilities, vocational training and extra curricular activities for the students in the school to promote their innate talents and passions apart from academic knowledge.
