Imphal, January 20 2024:
The Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA), Kangleipak has called a total shutdown in the whole State of Kangleipak/Manipur from 4 am to 5 pm on January 26, the Republic Day of India.
It has also pledged support to general strikes, total shutdowns or boycott called by any revolutionary organisation of WESEA and Kashmir on January 26 .
A statement issued by SOREPA publicity and organisation secretary MC Yaiphabi informed that media, medical services and religious functions would be exempted from the purview of the total shutdown.
Apart from offering revolutionary salute to all the martyrs who laid down their lives to protect the integrity and political boundary of Kangleipak, the outfit conveyed solidarity to all the bereaved families.
It also prayed that all those brave sons of the soil who sustained injuries in the battles to safeguard the integrity of Kangleipak may recover soon.
Alleging that the Government of India engineered the ongoing communal clash by supporting narco-terrorists and drug cartels, SOREPA remarked that the complete silence of the Indian Prime Minister on the nine months old violent conflict cannot be an attribute of India being a republic.
It said that some kings of Kangleipak allowed Khongjais to settle in the southern part of Kangleipak on humanitarian ground in the 18th and 19th century.
All the communities were living together in harmony and with mutual respect under an independent country, it said.
The aggression of Khongjais and Kuki mercenaries from Myanmar against the Meiteis is an open act of supporting the alleged Indian neo-colonialism, it said.
The war being waged by narco-terrorists, drug cartels and foreign mercenaries is now nine months old.
As a result of the protracted war, innocent people belonging to both the Kuki and Meitei communities have been suffering untold misery.
Neither Meiteis nor Kukis will gain anything from this war.
It is India who stands to benefit from this war, the outfit said.
Saying that the war should not be allowed to go on indefinitely, SOREPA appealed to the Khongjai people to think over and come back to the right path.
Saying that Kangleipak/Manipur is the common home of several communities, it appealed to all the communities of both the hills and the valley to come together and fight collectively until all narco-terrorists and drug cartels are uprooted.
Maintaining that the people of Kangleipak need not join the Republic Day celebration of India, it appealed to all the people to support its call for total shutdown on January 26 .
