Closure of Rangkhung village diversion road lifted

Noney, January 20 2024:
Following an understanding reached during a meeting with DC Noney, villagers have lifted the closure of Rangkhung village diversion road (NH-37) with immediate effect.
The development has come after a joint meeting of Noney district administration, officials of NHIDCL and Rangkhung Village Authority was held at DC Noney office on Friday.
The joint meeting chaired by DC Noney Joseph Pauline Kamson discussed and considered request of the villagers for expansion of NH-37 road at the market turning point area and reached an understanding to start work for road cutting of the said area from January 20 for 30 metre length and 10 metre width after considering sentiments of the villagers.
The meeting also agreed that necessary drainage facilities as per the drawing and specifications shall be prepared within 72 hours to avoid flooding of the village during monsoon season from the water coming down the hills at MNB location at 66.765 km.
If necessary, separate Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) may be processed and recommended by PMU, Noney, for the approval of the competent authority of NHIDCL, the meeting agreed.
Having agreed upon the above-mentioned points, the villagers agreed to lift the bandh with immediate effect.
