Imphal, April 25 2010:
Neklalsiam Vaiphei (20) who had been abducted by unidentified persons has been released by his captors near his New Lambulane residence yesterday evening.
Talking to reporters at his residence today, a visibly weak Neklalsiam revealed that he was accused by his captors as the training instructor of the proscribed KYKL.
He said, his captors administered electric shocks and asked repeatedly, "Whether you are a training instructor of KYKL and how many cadres have you given training?", while he was in their custody.
Neklalsiam said that when the captors opened his blindfold, he could see 'B-Coy, 28 Assam Rifles' was inscribed on the back of one of the chairs.
He further said that although he was blindfolded soon after he was abducted, he could sense that it was not so far where he was kept by his captors.
It took only around 20 minutes from where he was picked up, Neklalsiam said and added that the place was a bit mounted or hilly.
Neklalsiam said, he was kept inside a tent house and could see a market shed built on a bridge.
Neklalsiam was abducted by 4-5 gunmen in a white Gypsy having no registration number on April 22 from New Checkon.
He had cleared PET and medical test for Army recruitment rally.
He was to appear for written test today but could not sit as he was too weak.
Meanwhile, expressing strong resentment over the incident, Vaiphei Students' Assn Imphal Block President Haominthang Vaiphei asked how a person could be arrested without issuing arrest memo from a place where AFSPA is no more.
KSO Imphal Block President Helal Khongsai demanded action against those involved in the abduction.
He also demanded compensation for his treatment.
The bodies also warned that it would initiate agitation if the demands are not fulfilled within 48 hours.
