Imphal, April 25 2010:
A 33 years old patient H Ratan Kumar who was bite by a cobra at Moirang Khom village on April 21at around 10.30 am.
After the bite individual was taken to RIMS hospital for emergency management.
At RIMS Imphal they had given him emergency care along with anti snake venom which is life saving in this condition, but they could not continue the treatment to a patient hanging between life and death, as the doctors had proceeded on strike.
Patient's life was in peril and his relatives contacted 183 Military Hospital at Leimakhong through a Manipuri officer in Division Headquarters, patient was discharged from RIMS and admitted at 183 Military Hospital, Leimakhong on 22 Apr 2010 at 1130 am.
After preliminary examination and investigation patient was diagnosed to have still sign of poison in the body, Mr H Ratan Kumar Singh was given four vials of anti-snake venom along with antibiotics and round the clock ICU care for two days, which resulted in saving his life.
Patient was discharged on 24 Apr 2010 .
