Many continue to extend humanitarian aid

The Lions Club of Imphal, Lions International District 322D today provided food & other essential items to the Old Age Home, Mongsangei as a part of its Hunger Relief project.
According to a release issued by Manas Maisnam, secretary Lions Club of Imphal, the items were handed over by members of the Club led by its president L Swamikanta Singh to Sanamacha Sharma, secretary All Manipur Senior Citizen Welfare Association, which is managing the Old Age Home.
The relief items were sponsored by W Bhaktaraj Singh, PMJF on the occasion of the 102nd birth anniversary of his late father.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanamacha Sharma appreciated Lions Club of Imphal for its assistance to the Home.

He continued that many younger generations are neglecting their aged parents and this is one of the major reasons for them to come and stay at Old Age Homes.
He requested Lions Clubs to take up the matter of instilling family values to the youth of the society through awareness programmes at appropriate platforms.
Past district governor H Manikumar Singh spoke about Lionism and its focussed projects.
Members of Lions Club of Imphal also made monetary donations to the Old Age Home.
Meanwhile, members of Wakhallon Mannaba Apunba (WAMA), Kangleipak yesterday distributed relief materials including potato, dal, chilli, salt, onion, cabbage, edible oil, etc to the village volunteers camping at Phayeng Nongdam Leikai.
