WYC, Thoubal Wangkhem (14 points) & YUCC, Kwakeithel (12) from Group A; YWC, Langthabal (12) & PCC, Mayai Koibi (10) from Group B; MPSC, Manipur Central Jail (12) & UCC, Uripok Khaidem Leikai from Group C; and Blue Hawk, Khurai Lamlong (12) & KSDO, Kiyamgei (8 points) advanced to the quarterfinal knockout round of the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24 .
In a league round match played Monday at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal WYC defeated RCA, Lilong by 3 wickets.
Opting to bat first, RCA were bundled out for 104 with Naesh Hussain (22), Imran Khan (21) and Alfash Kaif (10) being the only notable scorers as WYC, Wangkhem's Laksmon Singh took 3 wickets, and Borish Khomdrom, Thoudam Roshankumar, Huirongbam Biteshwor and Ruhit Nongmaithem claimed one each.
WYC overhauled the target in 19.3 overs losing 7 wickets with Laishram Rajesh (29), Huirongbam Bisteshwor (15), Wangkhem Shamungou (13) and S Herokumar (12) guiding the team to victory.
At Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, SU trounced SHADOW, Thangmeiband by 47 runs.
SU scored 117 in 19.1 over with Rahul Rajkumar (42), T Lenin Singh (15) and Kennedy Singh Karam (14) being the main contributors as SHADOW bowlers led by Rahul Kumar and captain Sagat-pam Lanchenba scalped three wickets apiece.
The SHADOW run chase ended at 70 in 14.2 overs as SU bowlers Takhellambam Herojit and T Lenin claimed three wickets each, captain Rahul Rajkumar scalped two and Kennedy Karam and Robin Irengbam accounted for one each.
KCC, Kongba Bazar defeated PCC Mayai Koibi by five wickets in another league match at Model Higher Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Put in to bat first PCC scored 140/9 centring on Charoibam Tyson (37) and Chingakham Ranjan (34).KCC reached the target in 19.5 overs with the loss of 5 wickets as captain Nongmaithem Dijaraj Singh (28), Nameirakpam Arbin Singh (45) and Thokchom Momocha Singh (28) ensured the victory.
In the last league match at Lairenjam Public Ground; YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel were awarded the match after NAPSA, Kha-Imphal were penalised for delay.
