3rd Manipur Bhawan in New Delhi ready for inauguration

The third Manipur Bhawan in New Delhi in Dwarka area is nearing completion and steps underway to inaugurate the 6-storeyed building by March this year.
Construction work on the 3rd Manipur Bhawan building in New Delhi at 19 Sector Dwarka began in 2020 under the initiative of Manipur government and the new Bhawan is likely to begin operation from March this year if the government inaugurate the same.
The 3rd Manipur Bhawan building is being contracted at a cost of Rs 100 crore in 3899.42 square metre land with the main objective of providing accommodation to state natives visiting the national capital for education, medical and other purposes.
The state government took up the initiative of constructing the 3rd Manipur Bhawan in the national capital as the existing two Manipur Bhawans could not provide accommodation to people of the state visiting the national capital.
As per sources, the new Manipur Bhawan will have 110 rooms and facilities like basement parking lot, conference rooms and medical rooms.
Food and medical stores will also be opened around the building.
Notably, a team of Manipur Legislative Assembly led by PAC chairman K Meghachandra inspected construction of the Bhawan in 2023.The state government had already expressed willingness to construct similar Bhawan in metro cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai as well.
Meanwhile, ponstraction of Manipur Bhawan at Salt Lake in Kolkata is also nearing completion.
