Faculty Development Programmes conducted

A week-long Comprehensive Faculty Development Programme on "Indian Knowledge System and Modern Disciplines" kicked off today at the Conference Hall of T.S.Paul Manipur Women's College, Mongshangei.
The Faculty Development programme was organised by the College's Department of Political Science under the aegis of Directorate of University & Higher Education, Government of Manipur.
The inaugural function was attended by Thiam Nandita Devi, Principal, TS Paul Manipur Women's College; Dr Ningthoukhongjam Urmila Devi, programme coordinator; Elangbam Dolendra Singh, chairman, Governing Body of the College and Oinam Priyokumar Singh, secretary of the Governing Body among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Elangbam Dolendra Singh said that the ancient Indian systems were based on knowledge.

"Early Vedic scriptures depict deep knowledge of mathematics, science, philosophy", said Dolendra while adding that the concept of moral science ingrained in the education system makes the knowledge system sound & perfect.
Dr Ningthoukhongjam Urmila Devi said that the Comprehensive Faculty Development Programme is one of the vital points of the implementation of New Education Policy 2020 .
"As Manipur University has already implemented the Policy, teachers have to understand the salient features of the Policy as well as the common thread of the Policy", she added.
Notably, many experts including Prof W Nabakumar Singh, Prof L Bishwanath Sharma, Dr P Milan Khangamcha, Dr Sarat Sharma, Prof N Joykumar Singh, Dr Ningthoujam Paona, Dr Asem Babina, Dr Sarat Sharma, Prof S Mangi Singh, Kakchingtabam Brajamani Sharma, Prof S Dorendra Singh, Prof S Mangi Singh, Prof M Ranjit, Dr Rajkumar Suresh, B B Sharma and Dr Thokchom Shantilata will be interacting with the participants during the week-long programme.
Similarly, the Mathematics Department of Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal also organised a week-long Faculty Development Programme on 'Cryptography Foundation and its Direction in Research" at the Fitness Hall of the College.
The programme was conducted under the aegis of Directorate of University & Higher Education.
The inaugural function was attended by Manipur University, College Development Council, Director, Prof S Jivankumar Singh; Pravabati College, Principal, G Premchand Sharma; Pravabati College Governing Body secretary N Iboton Singh and Ng Jayshankar Singh, Vice Principal of the College as presidium members.
About 40 faculties from different Colleges of Manipur are taking part in the programme.
Moreover, another week-long Faculty Development Programme on "Digital Systems and Applications" began today at Manipur College, Imphal.
The programme was organised by Manipur College in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NEILIT) under the sponsorship of Directorate of University & Higher Education.
The inaugural function was attended by Dr Nongmaithem Ajith Singh, OSD (IT), Directorate of University & Higher Education; Thokchom Chitaranjan Singh, Technical Officer, NEILIT Akampat; Salam Surjit Singh, faculty NEILIT Akampat; and Dr Waikhom Shambhunath Singh, Principal, Manipur College as presidium members.
Dr Keisham Nanao Singh, Assistant Professor, Manipur College delivered the welcome address while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr O Shantajit Singh, Assistant Professor, Manipur College.
