AR conducts security meet, awareness lecture

Assam Rifles organised a security meeting at Keithelmanbi Garrison on Monday to address security related issues in the area.The meeting was attended by village chiefs of neighbouring villages of Keithelmanbi Garrison namely, Moidanpok, Khumbong, Kang-mong, Sajirok, Khaiden, Leimaram.
A total of 20 locals participated in the event along with their village leaders and discussed their security related concerns with the Assam Rifles.
In Chandel district, Assam Rifles organised an inter-village volleyball match at Kovang village on Monday.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from four villages, namely Kovang, Gumnom, Wayang, and Tuitong.
The event served as a platform for promoting a sense of unity and healthy competition.
Following the matches, the winning teams were honoured with prizes, recognising their dedication and prowess in the sport.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles distributed essential items at Education Centre, Khoibu village, Machi, in Tengnoupal district on Sunday as part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme.
The distributed items included RO systems, washing machines, heaters, fans, and books, to enhance the learning environment for 150 children and teachers in the Centre.
Kothyeldawn Khaling, a lecturer who studied in Japan, conducted an awareness lecture addressing the critical issue of drug abuse, emphasising the importance of a drug-free society.
Amidst the prevailing security situation, the distribution of essential items brought motivation and fulfilment to the children and teaching staff.
The event also featured discussions on higher education, career opportunities, and various entry paths into the Armed Forces, empowering the local youth with knowledge and guidance for a brighter future, informed statements issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
