4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T20 Trophy : WYC, YUCC post wins to qualify quarter-finals

WYC-Wangkhem and YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai ended their Group (A) campaign on winning notes and finished table toppers to seal quarter final berths in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T20 Trophy 2023-24 .
At Thoubal Moijing Public Ground, WYC chased down a target of 105 runs set by RCA, who won the toss and opted to bat first, with three wickets and 3 balls left to spare for the seventh straight victory.
RCA's Naesh Hussain 22, Imran Khan 21 not out and Alfash Kaif 10 were the only double digit run getters as they were bundled out for 104 runs.
Wangkhem Laksmon enjoyed a three wicket haul for WYC as Borish Kh, Th Roshankumar, H Biteshwor and N Ruhit picked up a wicket apiece.

In the chase, RCA's Md Danish 2/24, Zamir Khan 2/11 and Naesh Hussain 2/31 troubled the WYC line up but Laishram Rajesh scored an unbeaten 29 off 36 balls to ensure the team reached the target with three balls left to spare.
W Shamungou 13, S Herokumar 12 and Huirongbam Biteshwor 15 also scored double digit scores for WYC.
Meanwhile, YUCC defeated NAPSA by 70 runs to finish Group A runners up at Lairenjam Public Ground.
YUCC racked up 140/8 after electing to bat first courtesy N Thoiba 35 and N Rohit 41 and restricted NAPSA to 70/8 in an innings reduced to 14 overs as a penalty for turning up late.
L Electronic 3/25 and Heisnam Boney 2/11 proved effective for NAPSA before Somraj Laishram 3/17, Shyam 2/16 and Devraj Nongthombam 2/16 sharing the bulk of 8 wickets among themselves to hand NAPSA the 5th defeat of the tournament.
At Model Hr Sec School and Oriental College Ground, KCC-Kongba defeated PCC-Mayai Koibi by 5 wickets in a Group B tie to keep their quarter final hopes alive.
PCC, who managed Group's second place despite the loss, amassed 140/9 on the back of Charoibam Tyson 37 and Chingakham Ranjan 34 after being put in to bat first.
KCC then chased down the target with a ball and five wickets left to spare courtesy notable contributions from Nameirakpam Arbin 45, Nongmaithem Dijaraj 28 and Thokchom Momocha 28 .
Mathurabashimayum Jobanta Sharma (3/21) picked three wickets for PCC but in a losing cause.
For KCC, Y Sheiteendra picked two wickets as four others grabbed a wicket apiece.
The result lifted KCC to third place on ten points and will face MPA in their ultimate Group tie.
In an inconsequential Group B match staged at Khangabok Cherapur Ground, Sagolband United defeated SHADOW-Thangmeiband by 47 runs for the second win in 7 matches.
Sagolband United were bowled out for 117 in 19.1 overs despite Rahul RK's 42 as Rahul Kumar (3/15) and Sagatpam Lanchenba (3/13) wreaked havoc.
SHADOW however faltered badly in the chase and were bowled out for 70 runs in 14.2 overs as Takhellambam Herojit (3/12), T Lenin (3/14) and Rahul RK (2/21) produced better bowling performances.
