COA, CAU students flagged off for foreign training programme

A flag off ceremony for ten Undergraduate students of College of Agriculture (COA), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, who are to undergo two months training programme at King MongKut's University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand was held on August 31, 2023 in the presence of Dean, Prof Indira Sarangthem.
The training programme is sponsored by Institutional Development Plan-National Agricultural Higher Education Project (IDP-NAHEP), said a release issued by CAU.
The ten final year undergraduate students were selected on the basis of their grades and scores of common tests conducted by the College.

While flagging off the students, Prof Indira Sarangthem advised the students to take optimum advantage from this global exposure in order to enhance their skills and knowledge and also to live up to the expectations of the University.
The training programme will have three aspects namely lectures, lab works and academic excursions in which the students will be provided the opportunity to learn about post harvest losses, conservation ecology, Plant pathology, Ornamental plants, Thai Rice, etc.
Field visits to Thai Orchid Company, Coconut Farm, National Food Institute and many prestigious Institutes are the important highlights of the training programme.
The foreign training programme is being executed under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra and Dr S Basanta Singh, Director of Instruction, CAU, Imphal.
